Blackberry Black Tea - WS
Blackberry Black Tea - WS
Luscious Blackberries have been enjoyed by humans for over 2000 years. In the Rubus genus of the Rosaceae family, this healthy fruit is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins. Blackberries are grown in many places and are particularly plentiful in the British Isles and Western Europe as well as in Eastern and North Western America.
Blackberries have a similar taste to raspberries. This powerful tasting tea brews to a bright amber cup with a musky, earthy berry taste.
Ingredients: Black teas, blackberry leaves and blackberry flavoring.
Brew tea at 212º - steep for 3 minutes.

This tea does not taste to me strongly of blackberries. It is rather on the weak side. I grew up with blackberry vines in the yard. Definitely not the same. I rank it as a 7 out of 10. However, if you mix it 50%-50% with the Raspberry Black, you get a nearly wonderful flavor of berries. Better than either by themselves. I like the mix as a morning drink. Mixed, I rank it as an 8 of 10.
I love fresh blackberries especially when picked right from the bushes, and this was the flavor I was expecting from this tea. Unfortunately, this is not what i tasted in this cup of tea. It was quite floral and perfume like. I was disappointed.
I special requested Blackberry as a green tea. My husband agrees with me -- it strangely (but deliciously) resembles the taste of Dr. Pepper without any syrupy sweetness. The immediate scent of the dry tea leaves and initial taste of the brew has a stronger floral taste than of "Dr. Pepper," but the aroma of the brewed tea and its after taste is, to me, definitely Dr. Pepper. Delightful!
I had very high hopes for this tea... I've been looking for a good blackberry black tea for a long time, and I've enjoyed many of the S&V teas, but this missed the mark. The initial taste isn't bad, but the aftertaste leaves a sense of drinking perfume in my mouth. It smells and tastes too artificial.
