These black OP leaves open into large brown leaves when brewed with a slight cinnamon spice aroma. The amber cup has a bright taste with a good body and a flavorful slight tobacco taste. This well-balanced cup is a great way to start the day!
Brew tea at 212º - steep for 3-5 minutes.

Smooth, easy drinking tea with a slight vegetal flavor.
THIS TEA HAS A FULL BODY AND IS VERY FLAVORFUL. I LIKE THE FACT THAT IT IS ORGANIC TOO. GOOD TO DRINK ALL DAY THROUGH. HAS A SLIGHT SMOKINESS TO IT ALSO, BUT NOT OVERPOWERING.
This is my favorite S&V African black tea thus far. I've enjoyed and have reviewed Malaika OP and Milikma too. But Tananzania Luponde is my 5 Star personal favorite. I even bring it along when I travel. I enjoy the black-pepper like spice and its restrained dry finish. The leaves have power for second steepings, and thus far it's the only organic S&V African black tea. Certainly enough for 5 stars, in my book.
This is a fine African black tea. It's most noticeable feature is a note of tobacco/smokiness. Reminded me a bit of the smell of plum tobacco for a pipe. However, don't let this put you off, it's a subtle smell and this is not a real smoky tea. Otherwise it is a solid cup of tea that is fun to drink. Organic and Fairtrade, as well, so this tea deserves attention.
