Korean Joongjak Organic Green Tea
Korean Joongjak Organic Green Tea
This organic green tea comes from the Seogwang Tea Garden located in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, South Korea. This area was designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The water, soil and temperature all combine here to create the perfect environment in which to grow high quality teas. This tea is plucked mid-end of June and is roasted with a traditional Korean technique.
These vibrant green leaves have a fresh, exquisite vegetal aroma. This tea brews to a light jade color with a delicate, creamy vegetal taste.
Brew tea at 180º - steep for 2 minutes.

An interesting sounding green tea, mainly because it is a rare tea from South Korea. The dry leaf has a mix of sizes and the aroma of some kind of fresh vegetable. The brew is BRIGHT neon green but cloudy- cloudy with all those nutrients, I would imagine. The flavor is almost like, blindfolded, I would guess that it is a cup of matcha and that surely doesnt usually happen with all the green teas I taste, or really any of them that arent specifically matcha. So if you want the flavor of matcha, without actually drinking a cup of matcha, here you go. Otherwise, there is a hint of beans yet something fruity hiding in there. But mostly it tastes like matcha. Very fresh and lovely on a day when Im physically feeling cruddy. Quite good bright in color and flavor and reinvigorating. Better than I expected!Steep #1 // 1 1/4 teaspoons for full mug // 35 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steepSteep #2 // 43 minutes after boiling // 2 1/2 minute steep
This is a pleasant green tea that tastes true to it's description. It's a lighter green tea with a nice creamy/buttery mouth feel. It's a perfect tea for someone that enjoys a delicate green!
~Always in appreciation of an organic green tea offering. :-) The temperature and steep time is very important to follow for this tea or it makes for a lesser cup, which is a bit unusual since leaves of this thickness could normally steep another minute, but not so with this tea.
Fantastic green tea for the daytime, goes well with a dash of honey.
I felt this tea was unusual in a good way. Since it's roasted the tea has a unique flavor and isn't very astringent. It makes for a delicious afternoon tea.
