George, a customer in our retail store, came in one day and asked us to duplicate a blend for him that he used to enjoy and could no longer find in the US. After hearing his description and tinkering around, we unveiled this blend. Duke Cardiff is a hearty, well-rounded blend of China and Indian teas that has an amber cup with a light currant after-taste. George still comes in to purchase Duke Cardiff blend, as do many of you now. We'll never forget the day George came in for his tea wearing a kilt. He'd just come from a parade in the next town where he had played his bagpipes. With a little urging from us he treated us to a private show, much to our delight. As he headed off to his car, still playing his pipes, we all took a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to have such amazing customers.

Ingredients: Black and oolong teas, blackberry leaf, natural and artificial black currant flavor, and cornflower petals.

Brew tea at 212º - steep for 3 minutes.

One of my favorites!

After having sampled this tea a few years back, I recently ordered a tin to keep on hand at work. It's a very pretty tea--love the blue cornflower petals. The black current is subtle as the tea is the most prominent flavor. I get a wisp of flowery flavor as well. Very nice with a tiny bit of sugar or plain. It's a great afternoon pick-me-up!

my go-to tea

This is a lovely tea that lifts my spirits. When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I just brew a cup of my favorite tea, and then I don't feel so bad.

A light blend

The mix of black and oolong teas made for a very nice cup. The flavoring is subtle, letting the tea shine through. I ended up enjoying this blend more than I thought I would since I usually gravitate to more flavored teas. It's an overall good blend!

Lovely light black tea

I find the currant flavoring to be extremely subtle - the dominant flavor is that of the tea. So while it's not quite what I expected (usually I like my flavored teas to have a bolder flavor), it's a great tea to drink for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Has a lovely black currant smell and taste. We like it much better than the black currant tea. Also gifted my brother some who likes it as well.

Free ground shipping on retail orders over $50 within the continental U.S. If you are shipping to multiple addresses each order must be over $50.

We ship 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. We normally ship orders within 24 hours of receipt.

International Orders:

Orders shipped outside the US will be shipped via US Postal Mail (either Global Express, Priority Mail or First Class [packages under 4 lbs]). For orders shipping to Canada, freight charges should be calculated at the time of checkout.  For other orders shipping outside the US, additional shipping charges will apply and we will email you the freight total prior to shipping your order. Wholesale Orders:

Orders to wholesale accounts will be shipped via UPS. Freight charges will be assessed prior to shipping. Please notify us if you would like a quote prior to our shipping your order. Otherwise, all orders will have the freight charges added to their merchandise price.

All merchandise purchased through this site is F.O.B. Brookfield, CT. Title to the merchandise passes to you at the time of delivery by Simpson & Vail, Inc. to a common carrier, as well as responsibility for all shipping fees.

Order Cancellations:

You may cancel your order for any reason prior to shipment and receive a full refund. Should you desire to cancel an item, which has not been received, please call at: 800-282-8327. You will be advised if your merchandise has not been shipped and may therefore still be canceled. If the merchandise has already been shipped and a cancellation is allowed, it will be your responsibility to pay the complete shipping and handling charges. Special order merchandise cannot be canceled.
