Roasted Chestnut Rooibos Herbal Tisane

Roasted Chestnut Rooibos Herbal Tisane is a wonderful cold weather tea! Although it contains no nuts, this tea has a rich, buttery, nutty flavor which stands up to and compliments a robust red rooibos herbal tea.
It is really warming and flavorful and so perfect for a mid-morning, afternoon break and a delicious treat, being caffeine-free, as an evening dessert tea, - even richer with a splash of milk/nondairy milk and a touch of stevia, sugar or honey.

I need to avoid caffeine. This tea was a surprise find in the Holiday tea box our son gifted us. I can’t wait to buy more as it will be my morning tea choice. Unlike some other teas without caffeine it doesn't have a strong fruit or spice flavor. It is neutral, rich and smooth.

At Christmas, I bought the holiday sampler pack of teas and gave them as gifts along with some homemade candies. My daughter's boyfriend was the recipient of the Roasted Chestnut tea, and he loved it. He shared it with my daughter, who also loved it. We then bought a tin of the tea, and the whole family became fans. It is a very smooth blend and since it is caffeine free, we can drink it in the evening. We have introduced others to this tea, and they have bought their own tins! Great tea!

If you love chestnuts this tea is for you! I chose the sample size to give this one a try. Its a little strong flavored for me ; however, thats just my personal bias. This tea is also very fine so comes through my strainer into my cup. Nevertheless, the flavor profile of this tea is just as described. Definitely worth a try!

I've been putting this one off because I suspected I'd taste nothing but rooibos, and I've never had unflavored rooibos. I used to dislike it in bagged tea and found I could deal with it in better, loose-leaf varieties. I still tended to lean toward the green rather than the red. So I was rather surprised when I loved this tea! I was afraid rooibos pong would overpower the chestnut for me. The chestnut flavor is subtle but it IS there and the overall result is a very drinkable tea with a flavor profile that fills a niche in my tea arsenal. I need something that's not super fruity, or very chocolatey, or crazy spicy - though I love all of these - sometimes I need a break. This is a deep, mellow flavor that I could go back right now and brew again.The accountant in my head sighs and says, "Ok, yet another re-order". From the person who always says she likes "VariTea"... I've come up with an awful lot of reorders from S&V.

The Roasted Chestnut Rooibos is a scrumptious cup for a cold day. The nutty sweet flavoring of roasted chestnuts taste delicious with the rooibos tea.

I was given this tea as a sample by someone who sold me some other tea related stuff. It is one of my all time favorites. It is warm and unique. I haven't had any more of this tea since I ran out of the sample. Still, even with the holidays behind us, I am going to buy some now! :)

I don't know much about what chestnuts taste like, however it does remind me of one of the best books I read this year: 'The Overstory' by Richard Powers. On to the tea: the lovely rooibos base comes through more than usual. A very deep red in the mug. I don't think the orange blossoms do much here, but I do love when they are in blends. Any chestnut flavor here just seems like sweetness to me. Not much nutty about it, but again, I have no chestnut experience to compare this tea to. But a sweet rooibos is acceptable enough for me for a nighttime cup. Absolutely love this tea. It has a distinct nutty flavor, without being bitter. In fact, any time I have one of the girls over to share a cup of tea, they all ask for the Roasted Chestnut. And with it being naturally caffeine-free, it is my go-to tea most of the time.

This rooibos is just wonderful! The aroma is like sugary raisins while the cup is bursting with a delightful nuttiness. It's wonderfully malty and easy to drink. Sometimes I'll get a slight orange note as well. In the past I had a chestnut tea with a black tea base that was divine- this tea fills that role but now I can drink it in the evening!
