White Monkey Organic Tea - WS
White Monkey Organic Tea - WS
Long ago this tea was grown only in the Fujian province in China. Cultivated at high altitudes it was picked by monkeys, hence the name, particularly trained for this purpose. Today it is picked by humans only on a few select days per year.
These dark green leaves have fuzzy white tips that brew to a light green color with a delicate floral aroma. Delight your taste buds with this excellent bodied and slightly flowery tea.
Brew: 1 (3g) tsp tea in 8 oz. water (at 165º), steep for 2 minutes.

This is an excellent tea. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned a fruity taste, thoughto me its dominant note is like apricot or mango. (I admit I'm steeping it closer to 175, so that may be why.) At any rate, it's one of the nicest green teas I've had.
From the very first time I tried this delicate green tea, I was hooked by its subtlety and depth. It's light, with just a breath of something nutty, and yet it's not a pushover, either. It's got depth in the green aspect. It's perfect for any day of the year, whether in the heat of summer or the cold of winter. I don't start my day without it. Unless I don't plan well and run out.
In the past years this has been one of my favorite green teas. It has white fuzziness on the leaves, and makes for a very smooth, vegetal cup of green tea. This year's crop wasn't as fuzzy as past years, and so as with many harvests, doesn't produce the same way every season.
