Louisa May Alcott's Green Tea Blend
Louisa May Alcott's Green Tea Blend
Early in Little Women, while visiting a sick Laurie, Jo says that her sister Meg's blancmange is made "very nicely." Later, her own attempt turns out "lumpy" and accompanied by strawberries that were "not as ripe as they looked." Our blend follows Meg's example and is almost, as Laurie says, "too pretty to [drink]." Combining almond and strawberry flavors, this blend brews to a delicious tea that is fruity and aromatic. It manages to be both sweet and light thanks to the Chunmee green tea base and the gentle floral notes added by the rose petals.
Ingredients: Green tea, apple pieces, strawberry flavor, strawberry pieces, rose petals, and amaretto flavor.
This flavoring does not contain any allergens.
Brew tea at 180º - steep for 2-3 minutes.
4 Ounces of loose tea makes approximately 50 cups of tea.

I couldn't believe I would like a tea better than the wonderful Jane Austen tea, but I do (don't tell Jane). This one is so perfect for overcase winter days because the bits of fruit and amaretto flavors are so reminiscent of summer and it's so perfect in summer because everything is better in summer. Though I'm not a big fan of green teas, this one is rich and deep enough as to have the robust flavor of black tea without the grassiness. And now I'm off to read "Little Men" with my cuppa.
I bought the bag before investing in the tea tin to make sure I would like this. I was not disappointed. I love this blend and feel like I am having tea with Jo when I drink it. It's a wonderful tea for the spring and summer. not overpowering, the flavors blend perfectly. the teamaster whom blends these has a perfect talent for this. I bought the tin and will get more after I use that one up.
I received this tea as a gift. When I opened the tin, a delectable aroma lifted my senses. I could not wait to get a cup of it brewed. The first sip lived up to, and perhaps surpassed the aroma. This is a full bodied green with the hint of strawberry making a lovely surprise!
I first tried this because I love the author, and it was a wise choice. It smells slightly fruity and fresh, and is not overpowering. It's a lovely green tea that I can enjoy all day long.
I love this blend! The taste is mainly fruity but I can also taste the almond and a hint of floral. As an avid tea drinker, this has become one of my new favorites.
