Mythology Inspired - Olympus Teas

“My inspiration for this tea line was born from my love of the Percy Jackson books growing up. My enjoyment of those books founded my interest in mythology and I’m excited to showcase a more lighthearted take on the ancient culture with the creation of these tea blends.” We hope you enjoy these unique teas and the amazing artwork paired with each one.

James successfully located an artist overseas to assist in creating beautiful graphics for each tea.  The line features 10 teas based on the most famous mythological characters.  Below is each character and information about them and the tea blends we created.

ZEUS

King of the skies and ruler of the gods, Zeus is magnificent and almighty. Known as the god of law, order, and justice, Zeus is often shown wielding a mighty thunderbolt.  Husband to Hera, he was known to have many romantic encounters with goddesses and mortals. He and his brothers split the cosmos with Zeus reigning in the sky, Poseidon ruling the sea, and Hades ruling the underworld. 

This tea blend, inspired by the great god, is meant to reflect his opulent status. The cup brews to a warm amber color with a smooth sweetness of golden honey and fresh figs, both beloved and sought after foods in the time of Ancient Greece. The addition of cacao nibs adds depth to the blend that mixes with floral notes and a hint of orange to lend an air of Olympian elegance. Regal, satisfyingly smooth, and fit for a king.

POSEIDON

Master of the seas and all their depths, Poseidon, using his iconic trident, can cause raging storms or soothing waves. He is often depicted as having a volatile and vengeful temperament. Reminiscent of luminous, tropical waters, this green tea is combined with butterfly pea flowers to create a beautiful greenish blue cup.

The taste of spearmint is layered with dark chocolate, caramel, and a fruity splash of pear. Enjoy hot to bring back memories of the beach, or iced, while sitting by warm waves.

HADES

Ruler of the underworld and all its inhabitants, Hades is the epitome of darkness. This blend unites three of the most powerful black teas into a single cup. Pu-erh brings a deep earthiness that mixes with lapsang souchong’s powerful smoke. Assam grounds the blend with a bold smoothness, while beetroot gives the cup a haunting red finish.

Dark and smoky, this blend is right at home with the dwellers of the underworld. 

HERA

Queen of the gods and goddess of marriage and family, Hera rules with grace and complexity. Her sacred animal, the peacock, exemplifies her beauty and regal nature, and this blend accentuates those ideas.

Her sacred fruit, the fragrant pomegranate, is mixed with sweet orange, rose petals, and a hint of spearmint to add intricate flavors in each sip. Cinnamon and ginger bring a comforting warmth and a stunning rose gold hue to the cup. Caffeine-free and endlessly complex, Hera’s strong will is present in this tea. 

PERSEPHONE

Goddess of springtime, vegetation, and queen of the underworld, Persephone lives between two realms, and so does this blend. Pu-erh tea is the anchor, bringing dark earthy richness, representing the time Persephone spends in the underworld.

Her sacred fruit, the pomegranate, cuts through the darkness, accompanied by tart hibiscus, acai, and papaya, signifying her return to the light in Spring. The cup brews to a deep crimson and exemplifies the beautiful unseen nature found in the shadows. Every sip is a journey between darkness and light.

ARTEMIS

Artemis, the goddess of the moon and wild nature, is the twin sister to Apollo, mirroring each other as the moon and sun. Like moonlight captured in a cup, this tea blend is smooth and beautiful.

Brewing to a soft golden glow, the taste of figgy pudding is rich with notes of vanilla. Oolong and yerba mate give this blend slight earthy flavors as well as a natural boost of energy. Let this blend be a tranquil source of vigor while you accompany the moon on long nights. 

APOLLO

Apollo, the god of the light and healing, is the twin brother to Artemis, mirroring each other as the sun and moon. Crediting his sunny nature, this tea blend radiates in your cup.

Brewing to a sun kissed copper hue, the taste of bright citrus and sweet fresh fruit dance throughout this tea. Just like Apollo bringing sunlight, this caffeinated blend is the perfect way to greet the morning and power through the day. 

ATHENA

Athena, master of strategy and goddess of wisdom, was the inspiration for this caffeine-free herbal blend. Olive leaf signifies prosperity and is Athena’s sacred gift to the people of Greece.

In this blend it mixes perfectly with rooibos to create a smooth, refreshing taste and brews to a rich amber hue. The addition of sage leaf and a dash of cinnamon add grounding elements that pair nicely with citrus and elderberry. Enjoy a cup of wisdom’s finest. 

APHRODITE

Goddess of love and beauty, an enchanting cup of tea is perfect for Aphrodite. The cup brews to a delicate pink color with an aroma of fresh floral notes and ripe strawberries, her sacred fruit.

This caffeine-free tea creates a light, flavorful experience that is refreshing and sweet. Pleasing to admire and delightful to drink, it’s perfect hot or iced and made for you or to share with someone you admire. 

ARES

As the god of war and courage, Ares is known to be bold and hot headed. His fiery spirit is the inspiration for this lapsang souchong blend.

The smoky tea serves as the base for a blend of warm bourbon whiskey flavoring and sharp cinnamon that is as intense as the god himself. Beetroot brings a deep red amber to the cup that embodies the fierce nature of Ares. Call upon your bravery and indulge in this impressive black tea blend.
