Delicious, sweet, heavenly apricots originated in China thousands of years ago. Their cultivation spread through the Persian Empire to Europe and then finally to America, specifically California where they thrive today. Related to peaches, apricots are smaller with a smooth skin, not the fuzziness associated with peaches. Apricots, when ripe, have a sweet, tangy flavor that is truly delightful.

This tea brews to a bright amber cup with a sweet smell. It is a well balanced cup, where the underlying tastes of the black teas come through and merge perfectly with the sweet Apricot taste.

Ingredients: Decaf black teas, marigold petals and apricot flavoring.

Brew tea at 212º - steep for 3 minutes.

This tea is decaffeinated using the all-natural CO2 process.

Natural CO2 Decaffeination To decaffeinate tea it is necessary to find a solvent that will remove the caffeine from the leaf, while keeping as many of the healthy benefits and the taste profiles in. The best method we have found is natural CO2 decaffeination. This method consists of putting moistened tea leaves in a chamber, adding CO2 and pressurizing it. CO2, when pressurized, becomes a liquid which effectively removes caffeine from tea leaves, while just as effectively not removing many of the healthy benefits. When the liquid is poured off the leaves and the leaves are dried, the CO2 reverts back to its gas form and dissipates from the leaf. Decaffeinated teas generally still have 1-2% caffeine.

My favorite iced tea... bar none!

I don't drink caffeinated teas much anymore. Selections for decaffeinated teas can be limited and finding one that brews into an iced tea I enjoy is even harder to find. Well, this one is my first choice every time I need a tall glass of refreshing iced tea! The apricot lends a wonderful aroma and the flavor is subtle but very unique.

Very Tasty

This tea has a very pleasant apricot flavor. I was very happy it did not have any bitter aftertaste that I usually experience in fruit teas (as opposed to fruit tisanes). I did add a touch of honey which brought out the apricot flavor even more.
